Here is a background that I'm doing as a test for a game company that needs a 2D artist. Thumbnail and rough sketch but I will finish it later because I have to wait for them to tell me what to do next. They just wanted a rough drawing at this stage. Till then I'm keeping my fingers crossed!
I'm working on this at the moment and I thought I would share the progression. I start with very basic overlapping shapes and gradually I start to define it. I'm adding the muscles at the moment and will color it this week but I am waiting for my Cintiq to arrive in the mail! Very excited about it!!! Can't wait to see what it is like to use it. I was always jealous of the lead artists at the Studios I worked at. They had the Cintiqs while we regular guys had to use our Intuos 3 tablets.
Here is an update on the Stray from the Heart project. This is a website concept for the campaign. Feedback would be much appreciated!
I think I'm going to use this dog character sketch I made for the Stray from the Heart postcard. I think people will like him on there as he is homeless and needs someone to take care of him.
Don't really know how or why I came up with this, it started with the eyes and morphed from there. I will put a body on it later.
Worked on this a bit more and I still have to work on proportions and angles because the legs just don't look right. Maybe when I add the feet it will come together.....
Trying to get back to basics and start drawing the figure again. I forgot how much I really enjoy drawing anatomy! This pose is a bit boring so I might flare her arms out to make it more interesting. This is a full body pose but the legs are still in the gesture stage so no need to show them as of right now. I'm going to start going to the museum of art as of monday morning to get some live figure drawing done so I'm really pumped about it! I feel pretty good about this one since I haven't done it in a while.
I'm designing a direct mail postcard for the Stray from the Heart Organization. They rehab and foster dogs that have no homes so since I love dogs and own one myself I am doing this for them. I am working on the back and will post tomorrow.
